•    the Sámi Education Institute is an upper secondary vocational school which provides a variety of vocational training in both Finnish and Sámi,  as well as  promoting Sámi culture in the whole of the  Sámi Region.

•    the Sámi Education Institute is owned by the state and founded through legislation (L545/93 and A649/93).
•    the purpose of the Sámi Education Institute is to provide education mainly for the needs of the Sámi Area, to maintain and develop Sámi culture and nature-based occupations, and to promote the production of educational material published in Sámi. The Sámi Education Institute can also conduct research and provide services which support or are closely linked with the education, as well as offer services for payment. To fulfil its purpose, the Sámi Education Institute provides vocational qualifications, further and continuing vocational education, as well as general education.
•    the departments of the Sámi Education Institute are located in the Municipality of Inari, in the villages of Inari, Ivalo and Kaamanen (Toivoniemi) as well as in the Municipality of Enontekiö, in the village of Hetta. The administrative centre is in Inari. Our education and research co-operation stretches throughout the four countries of the Sámi Region and also to other areas of the Circumpolar North and indigenous peoples.

• Yasavey (Guide who Knows the Terrain in Nenets language) was established in 1989 in Naryan-Mar
• Yasavey’s major tasks are to promote the growth of Nenets national identity and to preserve the Nenets culture and traditional way of life and to solve the socio-economic problems of the Nenets people
• In conjunction with Yasavey, there is a research and information centre Yasavey Manzara that was established in 2003 on Yasavey’s initiative.
• Yasavey Manzara’s tasks include research, project, information and publication activities as well as development of strategies, projects and programmes.

• Ethnocultural Centre of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug has functioned since the year 1960.

• The objectives of the Ethnocultural Centre are to preserve and develop traditional folk culture and versatile ethnic characteristics by promoting and supporting, for instance, language, traditions, national arts, ethnoecology as well as traditional livelihoods and handicrafts.
• The tasks of the Ethnocultural Centre include informative guidance and support, participation in preservation and development of cultural and historical traditions, organising cultural events regarding folk arts and handicrafts by taking into account local and national traditions, international and national cultural cooperation, publishing of informational materials, folk art and folk literature as well as participating in the region’s social life.
