•    the Sámi Education Institute is an upper secondary vocational school which provides a variety of vocational training in both Finnish and Sámi,  as well as  promoting Sámi culture in the whole of the  Sámi Region.

•    the Sámi Education Institute is owned by the state and founded through legislation (L545/93 and A649/93).
•    the purpose of the Sámi Education Institute is to provide education mainly for the needs of the Sámi Area, to maintain and develop Sámi culture and nature-based occupations, and to promote the production of educational material published in Sámi. The Sámi Education Institute can also conduct research and provide services which support or are closely linked with the education, as well as offer services for payment. To fulfil its purpose, the Sámi Education Institute provides vocational qualifications, further and continuing vocational education, as well as general education.
•    the departments of the Sámi Education Institute are located in the Municipality of Inari, in the villages of Inari, Ivalo and Kaamanen (Toivoniemi) as well as in the Municipality of Enontekiö, in the village of Hetta. The administrative centre is in Inari. Our education and research co-operation stretches throughout the four countries of the Sámi Region and also to other areas of the Circumpolar North and indigenous peoples.

 
Komi Voityr (Komi People), Syktyvkar, Komi Republic, Russia

• Komi Voityr’s major tasks are to maintain and develop the Komi language, the traditional culture and nature management, and to maintain and develop the Komi as a distinctive people

• Komi Voityr is one of the four collaborative partners in the Komi Republic of ‘NÉDA ORDYM Culture Tourism Project of the Indigenous Peoples of the North’ administered by the Sámi Education Institute.
• Komi Voityr is a member of BEBO-organisation, founded by the Sámi Education Institute. More information about the BEBO-organisation can be found at www.beboedu.com
• Komi Voityr functions as one of the main partners in the ’Arctic Reindeer’ project administered by Sámi Education Institute.
• Komi Voityr coordinates the collaboration between the Sámi Education Institute and  Komi Republic as well as the co-operation with other collaborative educational institutes, enterprises and organisations in the Russian North

 
Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Komi, Syktyvkar

• Executive body of the Komi Republic
• The Minister of the Economic Development of the Komi Republic is Andrei Sheremet; the Deputy Minister, Olga Konakova, is in charge of coordinating tourism in the Komi Republic; under Ministry, there is also a Department for Tourism Industry Development whose head is Aleksander Kodzmak.
• The functions of the Ministry are to develop and execute governmental politics, for instance, in the following fields: to promote entrepreneurship, to develop economics of the Komi Republic as well as to coordinate between tourism industry and its affiliated interests groups.
• The Ministry coordinates also investments projects like, for example, the Fenno-Ugric Ethno-Cultural Park, a multifunctional tourism complex as well as a tourism train from Syktyvkar to Vorkuta.

JSC Investment Support Foundation of the Republic of Komi, Syktyvkar

• JSC Investment Support Foundation of the Republic of Komi is an enterprise solely owned by the Komi Republic.
• Managing Director: Igor Kudinov
• The objective of the Foundation is to attract investments into the Komi Republic, to assist investors to locate investment targets and to help with the arrangements of the financing. The Foundation also promotes the development of tourism industry in the Komi Republic.
• The Investment Foundation’s fields of activities include, for instance, to provide bank guarantees and/or starting capital to enterprises as well as to consult, evaluate and support enterprises’ investment plans.
• The Investment Foundation has also an affiliated company Zdravnitsi respubliki functioning in the field of tourism.

Ministry of National Policies of the Republic of Komi, Syktyvkar

• Executive body of the Komi Republic
• The Minister of the National Policies of the Komi Republic is Galina Gabusheva
• The objectives of the Ministry comprise, for instance, to implement the state national policies, and to support preservation of the original human environment and social and cultural development of all the indigenous minorities living in the Komi Republic.
• The functions of the Ministry include, among others, to realise programs and measures on preservation and development of national identity, national language and cultures of the Komi people as well as languages and cultures of other peoples living in Komi Republic; to support traditional life style of the indigenous minorities of the North and to establish a serving system for nomadic reindeer herders belonging to the indigenous minorities of the North; and to develop Finno-Ugric cooperation.
